Gabrielle left school at the age of 14 to take up a job in Spain which started her modeling career. Her pencil-thin figure as a schoolgirl made her ideal for strutting her stuff as a high-class fashion model.
She was immediately snapped up for Virgin Atlantic's teasing, and the hit commercial has sent pulses soaring as Gabrielle goes through a racy routine.
Gabrielle has become best known for performing an X-rated strip, as a "Pole Dancinng Stripper", wearing only a skimpy bikini, in theVirgin Atlantic Airlines commercial. The final shot shows her ripping off her top and throwing it over her shoulder. This is where she was given the title "The Pleasure Machine" since the commercial said "Aboard The Pleasure Machine" referring to the airline and not Gabrielle. Maybe everyone else got the wrong idea, but could you blame them?
Before arriving in Australia, Gabrielle featured in advertising campaigns which included Diesel Jeans (worldwide), the 1998 Heineken Calendar, Virgin Atlantic Airways and the Pepsi commercial featuring Janet Jackson (worldwide).
Gabrielle spent years working for top model agency Elite Premier before deciding to come to Australia for work. The trip started as a two-week modelling shoot, and within a week she met boyfriend Solomon Haumono. The two-week stay ending up becoming a two year stay.
In early to mid 1998, Gabrielle had to return to England leaving Australia to be back with her parents. At this time her boyfriend, Solomon Haumono, received a $AUS200,000 contract with the Canterbury Football Rubgy League Club.
On Sunday June 7 1998, Solomon went AWOL and took off to England to see Gabrielle, without letting anyone know, not even his parents. After one week abroad, and facing the sack from the Caterbury Leauges Club, Gabrielle and Solomon returned with the help of Solomon's best friend, Anthony Mundine.
After returning to Australia, Gabrielle has scored a number of interviews and modeling shoots including The Star, Ray Martin, "The Footy Show", CLEO Magazine, RALPH Magazine, The Midday Show with Kerri-Ann, New Idea and Inside Sport Magazine.
Gabrielle's success continues to grow, with another RALPH Magazinespread, as well as Australian Playboy, where she is on the cover of the 20th Anniversary Edition. Gabrielle has split up with her boyfriend Solomon, who placed Gabrielle in the spot light with their relationship. But it is clear she doesn't need him to be successful.
"It's one of the honours of my life to be asked to pose for Playboy."
"It's somthing that I have always wanted to do. You guys [Playboy] asking me was just like - you know those moments when you just wanted to feel so happy, doing something you badly want to be doing? Thats how I felt. It just felt really, really nice."
"I just totally enjoyed the shoot; everyone was wonderful. I love doing shoots when I have input into what I'm doing. After 10 years of modelling...you never get a say; it was really nice"
"I love the shots...and I never like my pictures, ever, ever. I've always loved the glamour side of modelling. I've always found doing fashion just so boring. I've always loved Playboy and I've always thought I'd love to do it."
"I didn't just do it as a career move - I just think that it is such a great mag; it's something that goes down in history"
I have had the pleasure to meet Gabrielle and talk to her at2DayFM's radio show with Ugly Phil, and have learnt that Gabrielle is currently in acting school, and is hoping to pursue this career further.
Gabrielle has succeeded in her hopes for acting, and can now be seen on Channel Ten's "Total Sports" on Sunday afternoons. She did audition for Channel Seven's "Wheel Of Fortune" but did not get it as she has posed for Playboy and she was not considered for "Family Viewing"
After a break without Solomon Haumono, Gabrielle has now gone back together with the Balmain football player.
